Found this on craigslist

The part that grabbed my eye was when he said he would accept silver n gold instead of federal reserve notes, some of the sheeple coming out of their commas.

Back this summer, I sold some batteries from my solar power system ( was changing to a different type ) on Craig's list......I wanted 900 FRNs.....guy offered me a Krug ( gold was over 900 at the time ) and I gladly took it. Even MORE glad now.....

It would be nice to think that this person is accepting PMs as payment for the first time, but somehow I doubt it. However, to be trading in PMs on a very public board like craigslist sets a great example for folks that run across the ad that may not be awake to the values of metals yet. This is very encouraging... good find! :applause_

You met 'one of the gang' I bet!

By accepting it, he knew that you knew that he knew....

Not everyone is a sheeple coming out of a coma. I would be willing to bet this guy has been into real money for quite some time.

Especially in the rural and gun communities, accepting payment in PMs and abhorrence of FRNs has been going on for decades.

He may have been.....I paid 1600 for them less than a year earlier.....but if Sinclair is right, I'll be 'in the money' on that trade by January......ahahahaaaaa

As for the batteries themselves, I'd have done the guy a favor to just haul them on to a scrapyard, because after looking at his set up, that where they will end up. He had a tiny little wind turbine that he plans to put on a piece of 1" pipe on the end of his house.....and his house is located DOWN in a holler between two ridges.....he won't get enough wind in there to scatter dandylion seeds, much less keep an 800amp/hr battery bank charged. I told him he better get a GOOD trickle charger to put those batteries on, or they will sulphate up and be junk fairly quickly.

he may be, but what fool would trade their pms for a trailer, If it were me he'd get broken promise federal coupons. Never trade an appreciating asset for a depreciating asset.

I believe that Sinclair stated January of 2011.

I've been doing this with a few things here and there for a while on other forums to try to help bring PM's to the fore front.

Sold a half side of leather to a guy on a small gun forum for some buffalo rounds. It started some pretty interesting conversation. He was playing it off like he didnt really know the value of silver oz, but I had a feeling he was more of a GIM type than he let on.

Actually, I've done exactly that, although I had to sell the PMs and buy the trailer w/ FRNs. I would have gladly skipped the middleman.

The kind of fool who does it may have bought the gold at 700ish, putting away the cash for a trailer he must have to make a living, then selling it some months later for over 1k, thus buying his trailer at a 40+% discount.
